Oil Figure Study #9. Oil on Canvas. 7.3 x 7.25 in.
I created this nude to resemble that of divine goodness. I didn't want to paint her skinny or unrealistic, but as a real woman to been seen for who she is, not just the idea of who she is. This blue female figure study makes a beautiful piece of art in any room. This oil study was made in 30 min - 1.5 hrs as part of an oil painting exercise. My interest in human bodies is emphasized in this quick study that was painted based on a classical painting. My entire series of 20 paintings has 4 variations: dark greyscale, light greyscale, warm tones, and cool tones. This is a part of the variation of the cool tones that use only blue tones.
Care:
This angelic nude is painted on unstretched canvas paper and the oil paint is raw, meaning there is no varnish or protective coating. The best way to display this is to frame or hang up from pins. If it becomes dusty or dirty, lightly brush off dust with a paper towel or rag.
