About Me

"Disturb the Comfortable and Comfort the Disturbed" - Cesar A. Cruz

This has been the quote that has inspired me for years and allowed me to embrace my creative process. I like to call my art "realistic surrealism" but my work falls into many categories like "floral gore" and "body horror." I have worked in almost every art medium, but my home is in mixed media painting, creating 3D elements to show my vision on a 2D canvas. Eventhough my art can come across as creepy or discomforting, I see it as the visual translation of my anxiety, depression, and OCD struggles, particularly internal OCD and intrusive thoughts that I have dealt with for the last 10 years. My hope is that my artistic interpretations can help people struggling with the same issues I do not feel so alone.

Currently, I work in the Sacramento area and have a B.A. in both Studio Art and Art History from Sacramento State. I am an M.A. student in Early Modern Art History at UC Davis as well as 1/3 of the podcast team behind The E.A.R Podcast, a podcast aimed at making art history more accessible and fun!
