This is an original mixed media painting. This painting is created to be ambiguous, to read as the viewer wants to see it. I made this painting to display almost as a warrior returning or going into battle, the strength and power of women through blood. I wanted to show the "violence" usually associated with men as a source of inherent power for women since our conception. We carry "the burden" as a warrior carries their weapons and shield.
This painting is 20"x20" on stretched canvas, ready-to-hang, fully varnished, and signed. The painting is mixed media with a majority completed in oil paint, but most of the small drips are created with hot glue and alcohol ink markers.
