"Mutually Assured Destruction" Oil Painting
Mutually Assured Destruction: Principle of deterrence founded on the notion that a nuclear attack by one superpower would be met with an overwhelming nuclear counterattack such that both the attacker and the defender would be annihilated.
This is an original oil painting. I created this painting as an exploration into the texture in the human body, the other side of mother nature that is neither flora nor fauna, but strictly human. This painting is not gendered and actively subverts the male gaze because the tongues are not gendered. If the painting is sexualized, it's due to preconceived notions of the viewer and the male gaze they project onto it.
This painting is 16"x20" on stretched canvas, ready-to-hang, fully varnished, and signed.
